Silver Palace Tier List

Overview of Beta Rankings

Our Silver Palace tier list reflects combat performance, team synergy, and investment efficiency during the live Dichotomy Beta (July 23–August 13, 2026 UTC+8). Rankings cover the official fifteen-character roster; this page evaluates all fourteen named units we document—Detective plus thirteen partners, with one official slot still unnamed. Because the game has no gacha in beta, tiers emphasize how strongly each character contributes when resources are limited rather than pull rarity alone. Tier labels use Combat Style (mechanical role); narrative Identity is separate—see Identity & Combat Styles.

Tiers are divided into S (meta-defining), A (strong and versatile), and B (serviceable but outclassed). The Detective occupies a unique position as the mandatory protagonist with Gravitas element utility—effectively S-tier despite not being a gacha unit. Rankings will shift as Silver Studio patches balance; this page updates after each major beta revision.

S-Tier Characters

The Detective — Gravitas (Hero · Striker DPS)

The protagonist anchors every team. Gravitas damage scales with investigation progress, and the Detective's hybrid melee-ranged kit handles both mob clearing and boss burst windows. Crowd-control tools and support buffs for partners push this character to the top regardless of elemental matchups. No beta roster omits the Detective, making mastery essential.

Cynthia II — Ignis (Witness · Combat Support)

Cynthia II delivers exceptional elemental support and sustained Ignis damage. Her resonance triggers amplify partner abilities and accelerate Silverdrip buildup. In teams stacking Ignis with Cinderella or Alf, Cynthia II's buffs create some of the fastest boss kill times recorded in beta footage. She is the premier Combat Support partner for optimized rotations.

Cinderella — Ignis (Outlaw · Striker DPS)

Ashley, fighting under the Cinderella title, specializes in explosive burst during parry finisher windows. When teams build around perfect parries and stagger states, her Ignis detonations outperform every other single-target Striker DPS option. Slightly weaker in trash-mob scenarios without setup, but indispensable for elite and boss encounters where burst timing matters.

A-Tier Characters

Argos — Glacies (Witness · Combat Support)

Argos offers reliable Glacies damage and crowd control at four-star rarity. Free-to-play friendly and easy to pilot, Argos excels in freeze-lock rotations that keep enemies vulnerable for Detective finishers. Falls short of Cynthia II's team-wide support but remains a top pick when Ignis slots are saturated.

Firtho — Radiatio (Guardian · Survival & Healing)

Firtho, the Doctor, combines greatsword pressure with shield-based sustain. Radiatio stacks enable sustained DPS while her Guardian Identity and Survival & Healing Combat Style provide survivability for longer fights. Strong in content requiring damage mitigation; slightly slower clear speeds than S-tier burst comps but excellent for players learning parry fundamentals without harsh punishment.

Bentham — Glacies (Outlaw · Resonance DPS)

Bentham, Secretary of the UMI Board Office (The Quartz Net), debuts as a Resonance DPS Outlaw with Glacies affinity per official Facebook drip and community beta reads. Ambitious string-puller archetype with strong resonance conversion—A-tier for Glacies pressure teams. Full profile on the Bentham guide.

Grimm — Gravitas (Witness · Combat Support) — Provisional

Grimm, the Journalist, confirmed in Dichotomy Character Identity footage as Combat Support with Witness Identity. Provisional A-tier pending extended kit reveals—buffer role with Gravitas affinity. See the Grimm guide.

B-Tier Characters

Chief Inspector Lorin — Fulmen (Guardian · Break Suppressor)

Lorin delivers respectable Fulmen lightning damage and area control as a Break Suppressor. Beta endgame content exposes gaps in his scaling compared to A-tier options. Viable for story chapters and early side cases; recommend swapping out when pushing optional challenge missions.

Alf — Ignis (Hero · Break Suppressor)

Alf, the Maid, is beginner-friendly with straightforward Ignis stun-building combos. Early story progression feels smooth, but optimized Ignis teams prefer Cinderella, Cynthia II, or Red Rose. Alf remains a reasonable bench Break Suppressor when roster restrictions force duplicate-element slots.

Gucia — Radiatio (Saviour · Combat Support)

Gucia, the Apprentice caster, ranks B-tier as Combat Support with Saviour Identity—Radiatio affinity provisional from beta UI footage. Spellbook kit offers modest buff utility; see the Gucia guide.

Captain Kaboom — Ignis (Saviour · Break Suppressor)

Captain Kaboom, the Technician, brings explosives-and-gadgets stun building as a Break Suppressor Saviour. B-tier Ignis poise-break option confirmed in Character Identity screen footage. Profile on the Captain Kaboom guide.

A-Tier — Dichotomy Newcomers

Supervisor Rex — Glacies (Hero · Resonance DPS)

Rex, Superintendent and Resonance DPS Hero, debuts in Dichotomy with built-in parry effects within attack skills—aggressive Glacies pressure that rewards offensive play. Strong alternative to Argos when you want frontline resonance DPS rather than Combat Support. See our Rex guide for rotation details.

Red Rose — Ignis (Saviour · Combat Support)

Red Rose maximizes E-skill damage with a full six-slot gauge best charged through tag skills. High skill ceiling and A-tier burst potential when gauge management is mastered—Saviour Identity with Combat Support mechanics, not Witness. Profile on the Red Rose guide.

Gratia — Radiatio (Guardian · Survival & Healing)

Gratia debuts in Dichotomy as one of eight new roster additions—a Survival & Healing Guardian knight with greatsword and shield. Early tester impressions place her at provisional A-tier. Full profile on the Gratia guide; placement may shift after August balance patches.

How We Evaluate Tiers

Each placement weighs clear speed, survivability, resonance contribution, and skill floor. We reference team-building guides, parry system interactions, and Silverdrip resonance math where applicable. Compare individual kits on our character hub or use the character compare tool for side-by-side stat breakdowns.

Remember: Monotype Beta (ended January 2026) used earlier balance values. Dichotomy adjustments may elevate B-tier units—check patch notes after July 2026 updates before committing enhancement materials.

Patch History & Meta Shifts

Monotype Beta tier opinions differed substantially from early Dichotomy rankings. Cinderella received stagger extension buffs; Argos chill duration increased; Lorin received minor Fulmen scaling that did not change B-tier placement. Document every shift on this page so returning Monotype players recalibrate expectations without assuming January 2026 rankings still apply.

Future beta patches may introduce new enemies with elemental resistances shifting Ignis dominance. Maintain at least one leveled Glacies and Radiatio partner so roster restrictions or encounter design cannot hard-lock progression. The tier list evaluates average case performance—not single encounter gimmicks where Lorin shield bypass shines.

At launch, gacha acquisition rates will affect perceived tier value even when combat performance stays constant. A B-tier unit you never pull feels worse than an A-tier unit guaranteed from story—factor availability into personal investment decisions separate from objective power rankings here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the strongest character in beta?

The Detective, Cynthia II, and Cinderella share S-tier status. Cinderella leads raw burst; Cynthia II leads team support; the Detective offers unmatched versatility as protagonist.

Are four-star characters worth using?

Yes. Argos (A-tier) and Firtho (A-tier) compete with five-star units in many scenarios. Lorin and Alf are usable but generally replaced in optimized teams.

Will tiers change at launch?

Almost certainly. Beta rankings predict launch meta but are not final. Gacha availability and new characters will reshape the tier list after release.

How does element affect tier placement?

Elements determine Silverdrip resonance bonuses. Ignis-heavy meta favors Cynthia II and Cinderella; Glacies and Radiatio remain strong via Argos and Firtho synergies.

Is the Detective included in tier list?

Yes. Despite being the fixed protagonist, the Detective ranks S-tier for Gravitas utility, crowd control, and scaling with investigation progress.
